The Lincoln Continentals first began performing in the Lincoln Community in December of 1946. Since that time, our music has been performed throughout Nebraska and the United States. Today, the organization is stronger than ever with more than 70 members in the chorus and several chapter quartets. We are constantly striving for a better acapella sound and work very hard to entertain our audiences. There's nothing like men's acapella singing!
The Continentals perform throughout the state at a variety of venues. Aside from our own annual concert held in April, our waffle feed in November, and our holiday show in December, we also sing in many other places for a variety of groups. Over the years we have sung at the capitol for Statehood Day, the Lofte Community Theatre barn opening, husker basketball and football games, the state fair, assisted living facilities, and churches. We have also sung at many of our own member's weddings and anniversaries. We love to perform!
Continentals Support Area Youth
The Lincoln Continentals will host their annual Youth In Harmony event at Norris High School in Firth, Nebraska. This event is has become popular with high schools all around the state of Nebraska, with past attendance of almost 400 young men. The Continentals, in cooperation with other area barbershop groups, hold this event to encourage the arts in schools and promote a capella singing among young men. This day-long event will have a concert in the evening that is open to the public.
